Open lines of communication between parents and teachers, administration and parents. Our parents and taxpayer are our stakeholders but more importantly they are the parents of our students- they need and deserve full transparency on curriculum, reading materials presented in our libraries for appropriate content and a clear concise plan of what the curriculum, that will be chosen, will do to help our declining achievement scores. St. Charles is our home and it needs to reflect the values and principles of our community.
Making safety a priority inside and outside of the classroom.
District 303 needs a clear discipline plan that helps to support each student as they grow and learn at every level. We need to make sure that each student feels safe in their learning environment and that policies for this safety are upheld and help is given to those that truly need this in our community.
Achievement scores that reflect excellence - every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. Our website states as its #1 philosophy that it wishes to "attain excellence". This is a statement that needs to be backed by a proven, results driven curriculum that provides a clear roadmap as to how the district will look to increase these student scores and how we will help these children master the core subjects of reading, writing and mathematics. We need to get back to real learning and remove the distractions that keep these students from learning. While we do this as a school board we need to speak to how we plan to do this within the fiscal constraints of the learning and teaching budget - we owe this to our parents and taxpayers alike.
